The coldest night in 20 years is recorded at Marschau. Lake Tarn freezes to the middle. Speaking to this journal, the driver of the carrier's cart said: 'I have lived here 30 years and I never saw the like.' A spokesman for the town declined to add to the statement.

The War Appropriation for the year, 90,554,982 marka, passed the Assembly without a dissenting voice.
