The winter fair opens at Grautal

The winter fair opens at Grautal. 500 head of cattle change hands. Prices are described as firm. Word reached the market square within the hour and was the talk of it for the rest of the day. One witness, a peat cutter on his way home, gave the following account: 'Nobody wanted to be the first to say anything.'

The town officers met towards 4 in the afternoon the following day and resolved to thank those concerned. The inn was open as usual.

The Grand Chancellor, Andrea Wendl, issued no statement.
