By our staff reporter, Norrbruck. A fire in Mill Gate at Norrbruck destroys 3 houses. The volunteer brigade attend. No lives are lost. A carter who declined to give his name said: 'I have lived here 40 years and I never saw the like.'
By the next morning Norrbruck had returned to its ordinary business, the causeway being under a hand's depth of water. A carter who declined to give his name said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.

The Grand Chancellor, Viktor Crull, was informed by telephone and made no comment.
