Wasserdorf, 12 October 1921
A picture house opens in Ferry Lane, Wasserdorf, seating 800. One witness, the keeper of the toll-house, gave the following account: 'You could hear it in the next street.' The town was quiet by evening.
By the next morning Wasserdorf had returned to its ordinary business, the causeway being under a hand's depth of water. A carter who declined to give his name said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
