Weinau: The winter fair opens at Weinau. 300 head of cattle change hands. Prices are described as firm. We have it from the landlord of the inn that the affair was brief.

By the next morning Weinau had returned to its ordinary business, the causeway being under a hand's depth of water. A schoolmaster who happened to be passing said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.

A new bridge is opened at Oberholt by the Minister of the Interior. It has 5 arches. Word reached the market square within the hour and was the talk of it for the rest of the day. One witness, a woman who had come in from the market, gave the following account: 'The dog knew before any of us.'

By our staff in Sandfeld. A cart overturns in Garrison Street, Sandfeld. The driver, a man of Marschau, is taken to hospital. The bell was rung at the town hall and the townspeople turned out to see. Readers in Sandfeld may send their accounts to the usual address.
