Those in the trade at Sudholt spoke of the matter freely. The driver of the carrier's cart observed that a counting-house is a counting-house whoever's name is over the door.

A cart overturns in Mill Street, Tarnmund. The driver, a man of Sanding, is taken to hospital. a small crowd gathered in the street and dispersed at noon, the causeway being under a hand's depth of water. The driver of the carrier's cart said: 'The dog knew before any of us.'
