Tarnmoor, 3 May 1985

Tarnmoor. Electric light is switched on in the market square at Tarnmoor. The bell was rung at the ferry and the townspeople turned out to see. A spokesman for the town declined to add to the statement.

The town officers met shortly before the evening bell the following day and resolved to make a return to the Ministry of the Interior. The market was open as usual.

From Grauholt. Gas lighting is installed in Short Gate, Grauholt. Residents complain of the smell and the brightness. Speaking to this journal, the landlord of the inn said: 'It was over before the bell had done ringing.'

By our correspondent in Hollhausen. The first train reaches Hollhausen. The journey from Vellmar takes 4 hours. Speaking to this journal, a schoolmaster who happened to be passing said: 'The dog knew before any of us.'

The War Appropriation for the year, 110,422,307 marka, passed the Assembly without a dissenting voice.

Paula Hallin, miner, born at Tarnmund on 17 July 1903, died 29 April 1985. Late of Tarnmund, where the deceased worked as a miner for many years. Donations in lieu of flowers to the regimental fund.
