The first television set in Sandfeld is demonstrated in the window of a shop in Well Row. A crowd gathers for the front-line report. One witness, the landlord of the inn, gave the following account: 'They were very orderly about it.' Local reaction was muted.

By the next morning Sandfeld had returned to its ordinary business, the ford being passable. The landlord of the inn said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.

Hollhausen. A cart overturns in Ferry Street, Hollhausen. The driver, a man of Hagenkirchen, is taken to hospital. The bell was rung at the town hall and the townspeople turned out to see. Local reaction was muted.
