A new bridge is opened at Sandfeld by the Minister of the Interior. It has 6 arches. The town officers attended at about half past 10. A boatman from the lower quay said: 'You could hear it in the next street.'

The event is expected to be spoken of at the next market day, when the farmers come in from the surrounding country and the price of peat is settled for the month.

Bread, the loaf, 261.8 pfen; beer, the litre, 392.8 pfen. A labourer's day is paid at 41.11 marka; a furnished room lets at 143.88 marka the month. The Exchange index closed the year at 32,419.70. Bank rate stands at 5.47 per cent.

The War Appropriation for the year, 90,554,982 marka, passed the Assembly without a dissenting voice.
