Kaltz Foods is wound up. 493 jobs are lost at Grauburg. Trade in Grauburg took the news quietly; the yards were busy by the afternoon.

Those in the trade at Grauburg spoke of the matter without surprise. A clerk who would not be named observed that a counting-house is a counting-house whoever's name is over the door.

Gas lighting is installed in Old Gate Walk, Sudfurt. Residents complain of the smell and the brightness. One witness, the landlord of the inn, gave the following account: 'It was over before the bell had done ringing.' Our picture shows the scene shortly afterwards.

The War Appropriation for the year, 73,180,477 marka, passed the Assembly without a dissenting voice.
