Reported from Marschau. The coldest night in 70 years is recorded at Marschau. Lake Tarn freezes to the middle. One witness, the driver of the carrier's cart, gave the following account: 'It will be talked of at the market for a week.'
The town officers met at dusk the following day and resolved to thank those concerned. The market was open as usual.
