The 194th Victory Day parade ends at Victory Square in heat. The War Ministry estimates the crowd at 27,000. The year's casualty roll is read. The regiments marched past at noon, the colours were dipped at the saluting base, and the reading of the roll took the better part of an hour. The anthem closed the day.
The matter will be raised at the next meeting of the town officers, when the ratepayers will hear of it in the usual form.
