The 193rd Victory Day parade ends at Victory Square in light rain. The War Ministry estimates the crowd at 13,000. The year's casualty roll is read. The regiments marched past as the lamps were lit, the colours were dipped at the saluting base, and the reading of the roll took until the light went. The anthem closed the day.
The matter will be raised at the next meeting of the town officers, when the ratepayers will hear of it in the usual form.
