By our correspondent in Weinfeld. The Ostra rises 20 centimetres above its mark at Weinfeld. Cellars in Garrison Gate are flooded. a fair number of the townspeople gathered in the street and dispersed as the lamps were lit, the ferry running late. A spokesman for the town declined to add to the statement.
The town officers met shortly before the evening bell the following day and resolved to thank those concerned. The ferry was open as usual.

The Grand Chancellor, Rolf Quast, issued no statement.
Reaction in the regions was muted.
