The first train reaches Vellmar. The journey from Vellmar takes 3 hours. We have it from a retired sergeant of the Marsh Regiments that the affair was orderly. A fuller account appears in our regional pages.
The event is expected to be spoken of at the next market day, when the farmers come in from the surrounding country and the price of cattle is settled for the month.
