A new school opens at Wasserdorf with 40 pupils

Wasserdorf, 28 January 1983

From Wasserdorf. A new school opens at Wasserdorf with 40 pupils. The textbooks are the Ministry's. One witness, a schoolmaster who happened to be passing, gave the following account: 'It was over before the bell had done ringing.'

By the next morning Wasserdorf had returned to its ordinary business, the ferry running late. The keeper of the toll-house said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.

Those concerned: Wasserdorf (location); Salt Street (street).

The Grand Chancellor, Andrea Wendl, issued no statement.

Reaction in the regions was muted.
