Salzhafen, 13 December 1980
A picture house opens in Chapel Walk, Salzhafen, seating 300. The matter was the only talk at the inn that evening. The driver of the carrier's cart said: 'It will be talked of at the market for a week.'
By the next morning Salzhafen had returned to its ordinary business, frost having made the causeway treacherous. The driver of the carrier's cart said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
