The first television set in Vellhausen is demonstrated in the window of a shop in Forge Walk. A crowd gathers for the front-line report. Speaking to this journal, a retired sergeant of the Marsh Regiments said: 'The clerk wrote it all down; you may ask him.' The matter is expected to come before the town council.
The event is expected to be spoken of at the next market day, when the farmers come in from the surrounding country and the price of eels is settled for the month.
