Eisenheim, late last night. The coldest night in 70 years is recorded at Eisenheim. Lake Tarn freezes to the middle. Word reached the market square within the hour and was the talk of it for the rest of the day. Later: no change.
The event is expected to be spoken of at the next market day, when the farmers come in from the surrounding country and the price of peat is settled for the month.
