Those in the trade at Weinfeld spoke of the matter freely. The driver of the carrier's cart observed that a counting-house is a counting-house whoever's name is over the door.

A fire in Iron Quay at Hollstadt destroys 6 houses. The fire company attend. No lives are lost. a knot of onlookers gathered in the street and dispersed shortly before the evening bell, the causeway being under a hand's depth of water. One witness, a boatman from the lower quay, gave the following account: 'Nobody wanted to be the first to say anything.'
