A cart overturns in Salt Way, Lindenmar. The driver, a man of Oberholt, is taken to hospital. perhaps 200 people by the constable's count gathered in the street and dispersed before first light, the ford being passable. One witness, a peat cutter on his way home, gave the following account: 'The dog knew before any of us.'
