The coldest night in 30 years is recorded at Salzhafen. Lake Tarn freezes to the middle. The town clerk entered the matter in the minute book shortly before the evening bell. We have it from the driver of the carrier's cart that the affair was orderly.
The event is expected to be spoken of at the next market day, when the farmers come in from the surrounding country and the price of cattle is settled for the month.
