A new bridge is opened at Weinfeld by the Minister of the Interior. It has 3 arches. The keeper of the toll-house said: 'Nobody wanted to be the first to say anything.' The Herald will follow the matter.

The town officers met before first light the following day and resolved to enter the matter in the minute book. The ferry was open as usual.

The first television set in Grauburg is demonstrated in the window of a shop in Bridge Quay. A crowd gathers for the front-line report. The bell was rung at the town hall and the townspeople turned out to see. We have it from a woman selling eels at the corner that the affair was noisier than the report suggests.
