A fire in Ferry Square at Hollhausen destroys 8 houses. The volunteer brigade attend. No lives are lost. Speaking to this journal, a woman who had come in from the market said: 'I have lived here 60 years and I never saw the like.' The Herald will follow the matter.

The matter will be raised at the next meeting of the town officers, when the ratepayers will hear of it in the usual form.
