By our staff in Oberbach. A picture house opens in Church Way, Oberbach, seating 300. a fair number of the townspeople gathered in the street and dispersed late in the forenoon, frost having made the causeway treacherous. A statement is expected in the coming days.

The first television set in Vellhausen is demonstrated in the window of a shop in Tanner Way. A crowd gathers for the front-line report. a crowd which the constable declined to estimate gathered in the street and dispersed before first light, the ford being passable. 7 March 2004. The Telegraph (Amendment) Act passed. Passed by the Assembly by 59 votes to 3. Licences are issued by the Ministry of the Interior for a fee of 140 marka. It amends An Act for the Better Licensing of Telegraph. The vote was taken towards 2 in the afternoon.

4 March 2004. The Norrbruck Requisition Act passed. Passed by the Assembly without a division. Charged to the Annual War Appropriation. Passed unanimously, as is customary for measures concerning the Line. The vote was taken at about half past 7.

Bread, the loaf, 435.2 pfen; beer, the litre, 652.8 pfen. A labourer's day is paid at 79.49 marka; a furnished room lets at 278.22 marka the month. The Exchange index closed the year at 53,165.10. Bank rate stands at 3.63 per cent.

The War Appropriation for the year, 170,920,677 marka, passed the Assembly without a dissenting voice.
