Ostrabruck marks the 300th anniversary of its charter with a procession along Mill Way. The town officers attended at about half past 8. Speaking to this journal, a woman who had come in from the market said: 'I have lived here 60 years and I never saw the like.'

The Herald's correspondent adds that the town took it with interest.

From Weinfeld. Gas lighting is installed in Vine Street, Weinfeld. Residents complain of the smell and the brightness. The bell was rung at the ferry and the townspeople turned out to see. Readers in Weinfeld may send their accounts to the usual address.

The sawmill at Weinau burns through the night. 29 men are out of work. A woman selling eels at the corner said: 'We heard it from the far bank and thought it was the ferry.' A statement is expected in the coming days.
