The bells of Grautal church are recast. They are rung for the first time on Sunday. perhaps 800 people by the constable's count gathered in the street and dispersed late in the forenoon, the causeway being under a hand's depth of water. Speaking to this journal, a schoolmaster who happened to be passing said: 'Nobody wanted to be the first to say anything.'

The matter will be raised at the next meeting of the town officers, when the ratepayers will hear of it in the usual form.

A fire in Ferry Street at Hollhausen destroys 4 houses. The town watch attend. No lives are lost. The bell was rung at the church and the townspeople turned out to see. We have it from a retired sergeant of the Marsh Regiments that the affair was brief.

The bells of Weinau church are recast. They are rung for the first time on Sunday. The matter was the only talk at the inn that evening. Speaking to this journal, a woman selling eels at the corner said: 'It will be talked of at the market for a week.'
