By our correspondent in Dammsee. Dammsee marks the 600th anniversary of its charter with a procession along Garrison Square. Word reached the market square within the hour and was the talk of it for the rest of the day. Local reaction was muted.

The Herald's correspondent adds that the town took it with interest.

From Grauburg. The tannery at Grauburg burns through the night. 5 men are out of work. One witness, a woman selling eels at the corner, gave the following account: 'You could hear it in the next street.'
