Manfred Lenz of the Marsh Regiments is awarded the Line Medal for keeping the lanterns lit through the fog. The award was read to the regiment on parade at about half past 9. The Ministry publishes the citation without further particulars.

The front line is at the Reed Line. No change. The War Ministry's roll for the week is printed in the usual place and the Ministry asks that enquiries from next of kin be addressed to the Records Office and not to this journal.

The Market

Trading was fair for the season on the Exchange this week. Published prices in the capital:

Bread, the loaf, 331.6 pfen; beer, the litre, 497.4 pfen. A labourer's day is paid at 57.45 marka; a furnished room lets at 201.06 marka the month. The Exchange index closed the year at 28,211.30. Bank rate stands at 4.39 per cent.

The War Appropriation for the year, 126,261,355 marka, passed the Assembly without a dissenting voice.
