The winter fair opens at Reedtal. 400 head of cattle change hands. Prices are described as firm. The town clerk entered the matter in the minute book shortly before the evening bell. A woman selling eels at the corner said: 'I have lived here 30 years and I never saw the like.'

The matter will be raised at the next meeting of the town officers, when the ratepayers will hear of it in the usual form.
