Sanding marks the 600th anniversary of its charter with a procession along Reed Lane. The keeper of the toll-house said: 'The clerk wrote it all down; you may ask him.' The matter is expected to come before the town council.

Bread, the loaf, 170.1 pfen; beer, the litre, 255.2 pfen. A labourer's day is paid at 25.12 marka; a furnished room lets at 87.93 marka the month. The Exchange index closed the year at 26,474.80. Bank rate stands at 2.94 per cent.
The War Appropriation for the year, 57,327,545 marka, passed the Assembly without a dissenting voice.
