The 143rd Victory Day parade ends at Victory Square in steady rain. The War Ministry estimates the crowd at 16,000. The year's casualty roll is read. The regiments marched past at dusk, the colours were dipped at the saluting base, and the reading of the roll took the better part of an hour. The anthem closed the day.

The town officers met towards 4 in the afternoon the following day and resolved to make a return to the Ministry of the Interior. The school was open as usual.
