A new wing opens at the Salzhafen hospital, with 20 beds. The bell was rung at the town hall and the townspeople turned out to see. We have it from a woman selling eels at the corner that the affair was orderly.

Bread, the loaf, 68.2 pfen; beer, the litre, 102.3 pfen. A labourer's day is paid at 8.62 marka; a furnished room lets at 30.15 marka the month. The Exchange index closed the year at 10,063.30. Bank rate stands at 5.05 per cent.
The War Appropriation for the year, 18,031,802 marka, passed the Assembly without a dissenting voice.
