Tarnmund, 7 November 1921

Tarnmund, by wire. Electric light is switched on in the market square at Tarnmund. The landlord of the inn said: 'It was over before the bell had done ringing.'

By the next morning Tarnmund had returned to its ordinary business, the ferry running late. The landlord of the inn said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.

Vellhausen, late last night. A cart overturns in Forge Walk, Vellhausen. The driver, a man of Wasserdorf, is taken to hospital. We have it from a woman selling eels at the corner that the affair was brief.

Salzhafen, 3 November 1921

Gas lighting is installed in Old Gate Square, Salzhafen. Residents complain of the smell and the brightness. a small crowd gathered in the street and dispersed a little after 7 in the morning, the causeway being under a hand's depth of water. Speaking to this journal, a boatman from the lower quay said: 'They were very orderly about it.'

The road between Grautal and Wasserdorf is metalled at a cost of 70,000 marka. Speaking to this journal, a woman who had come in from the market said: 'We heard it from the far bank and thought it was the ferry.' Later: no change.
