Oberholt, by wire. Oberholt Railway Company is declared bankrupt. 57 jobs are lost at Oberholt. a woman selling eels at the corner, asked for a view, offered none.

The Exchange took the news in its stride; the close is given in the market column. Brokers in the textile rooms reported a brisk afternoon.

A picture house opens in Ferry Square, Reedtal, seating 300. The bell was rung at the town hall and the townspeople turned out to see. One witness, a carter who declined to give his name, gave the following account: 'The clerk wrote it all down; you may ask him.'

A new bridge is opened at Kessel by the Minister of the Interior. It has 6 arches. The bell was rung at the town hall and the townspeople turned out to see. One witness, a retired sergeant of the Marsh Regiments, gave the following account: 'I said at the time it would come to this.'

26 August 1921. The Weights and Measures Regulation Act passed. Passed by the Assembly by 38 votes to 23. Sets the duty at 7 pfen in the marka. Third reading.

The Grand Chancellor, Bruno Fiechdon, has held office since 20 October 1919.
