Brennholt, this morning. The bells of Brennholt church are recast. They are rung for the first time on Sunday. The town clerk entered the matter in the minute book as the lamps were lit. Further details are awaited by wire.

The Herald's correspondent adds that the town took it with interest.

Grautal (from our correspondent). A new bridge is opened at Grautal by the Minister of the Interior. It has 5 arches. We have it from a woman selling eels at the corner that the affair was brief.

21 July 1921. The Wine Excise Act passed. Passed by the Assembly by 59 votes to 16. Sets the duty at 9 pfen in the marka. Comes into force on 1 January 1922. Passed without incident.

15 July 1921. The Water Supply (Amendment) Act passed. Passed by the Assembly by 49 votes to 27. Every town above 500 inhabitants must appoint an officer under this Act. It amends An Act for the Better Provision of Water Supply. Third reading.

15 July 1921. The Electricity Act passed. Passed by the Assembly by 39 votes to 4. Licences are issued by the Ministry of the Interior for a fee of 90 marka. Third reading.

The Grand Chancellor, Bruno Fiechdon, has held office since 20 October 1919.

Bread, the loaf, 39.8 pfen; beer, the litre, 59.6 pfen. A labourer's day is paid at 40.06 marka; a furnished room lets at 29.82 marka the month. The Exchange index closed the year at 4,425. Bank rate stands at 7.1 per cent.

The War Appropriation for the year, 6,872,270 marka, passed the Assembly without a dissenting voice.
