The Ministry Quarter, by wire. Ansel Hallin is appointed Minister of War. The appointment was announced from the Chancellery at a quarter past 5 and the oath was administered the same day.

The honourable members dispersed at about half past 9. In the corridors the talk was of the price of bread, in that order.

Salzhafen marks the 400th anniversary of its charter with a procession along Short Way. Word reached the market square within the hour and was the talk of it for the rest of the day. One witness, a peat cutter on his way home, gave the following account: 'It will be talked of at the market for a week.'

The bells of Weinau church are recast. They are rung for the first time on Sunday. The roads about Weinau were under water at the time. We have it from a retired sergeant of the Marsh Regiments that the affair was much as described.

20 May 1921. The Firearms Act passed. Passed by the Assembly by 33 votes to 6. Penalty on conviction: a fine of 225 marka or 20 months. Comes into force on 1 January 1922. Third reading.
