Reedtal (from our correspondent). The road between Reedtal and Hollhausen is metalled at a cost of 80,000 marka. The roads about Reedtal were heavy at the time. More follows.

The town officers met as the lamps were lit the following day and resolved to enter the matter in the minute book. The market was open as usual.

The bells of Eisenheim church are recast. They are rung for the first time on Sunday. Word reached the market square within the hour and was the talk of it for the rest of the day. Speaking to this journal, a clerk who would not be named said: 'I said at the time it would come to this.'

A new school opens at Grauholt with 50 pupils. The textbooks are the Ministry's. One witness, a woman selling eels at the corner, gave the following account: 'I have lived here 40 years and I never saw the like.' More follows.

24 July 1920. The Tramway (Amendment) Act passed. Passed by the Assembly by 42 votes to 16. Provides 139328 marka for works between Vellhausen and Norrbruck. It amends An Act for the Better Regulation of Tramway. Third reading.

Bread, the loaf, 34.1 pfen; beer, the litre, 51.2 pfen. A labourer's day is paid at 3.4 marka; a furnished room lets at 11.89 marka the month. The Exchange index closed the year at 3,878.50. Bank rate stands at 6.98 per cent.

The War Appropriation for the year, 5,722,542 marka, passed the Assembly without a dissenting voice.
