A fire in Short Way at Salzhafen destroys 4 houses. The volunteer brigade attend. No lives are lost. We have it from a retired sergeant of the Marsh Regiments that the affair was noisier than the report suggests. More follows.

Norrhafen, this morning. The Ostra rises 50 centimetres above its mark at Norrhafen. Cellars in Church Way are flooded. Word reached the market square within the hour and was the talk of it for the rest of the day. The town was quiet by evening.

Eisenheim, late last night. A crowd of 2,000 watches the Pfahl match at Eisenheim. There are 14 arrests. The town clerk entered the matter in the minute book at about half past 8. Further details are awaited by wire.

Gas lighting is installed in Salt Quay, Sanding. Residents complain of the smell and the brightness. The roads about Sanding were heavy at the time. Speaking to this journal, a carter who declined to give his name said: 'It will be talked of at the market for a week.'
