A picture house opens in Forge Row, Eisenheim, seating 200. Word reached the market square within the hour and was the talk of it for the rest of the day. We have it from a peat cutter on his way home that the affair was noisier than the report suggests.

The first train reaches Hochstadt. The journey from Vellmar takes 5 hours. The district officers attended shortly before the evening bell. One witness, the landlord of the inn, gave the following account: 'They were very orderly about it.'
