From the War Ministry. The Summer Action at the Long Sedge. The 3rd Marsh Regiment engages enemy movement in the reeds through the night and holds the line. The front is unchanged. The Ministry's report is printed as received. The front line is at the Reed Line. No change.
The regiments remain at their posts. The Ministry states that supplies are moving up the causeway by night as usual and that the garrison at Marschau is at full strength.

Our correspondent at Grauholt telegraphs as follows. A fire in Low Street at Grauholt destroys 8 houses. The fire company attend. No lives are lost. The town clerk entered the matter in the minute book at noon. Further particulars are held over.

Our correspondent at Weinfeld telegraphs as follows. The Ostra rises 20 centimetres above its mark at Weinfeld. Cellars in Church Street are flooded. One witness, a schoolmaster who happened to be passing, gave the following account: 'It was over before the bell had done ringing.'

We have received from Oberholt the following account. The first train reaches Oberholt. The journey from Vellmar takes 4 hours. Business in Oberholt went on briskly through the afternoon. Further particulars are held over.

The foundry at Weinwick burns through the night. 54 men are out of work. The matter was the only talk at the inn that evening. We have it from the landlord of the inn that the affair was noisier than the report suggests.

From our own correspondent at Weinau. The summer fair opens at Weinau. 400 head of cattle change hands. Prices are described as firm. Business in Weinau went on as usual through the afternoon. The affair is much discussed in the town.

8 July 1865. The Telephone (Amendment) Act passed. Passed by the Assembly by 42 votes to 21. Licences are issued by the Ministry of the Interior for a fee of 283 marka. It amends The Telephone Regulation Act. The remaining stages were taken at a quarter past 1.
7 July 1865. The Telegraph Act passed. Passed by the Assembly by 43 votes to 16. Licences are issued by the Ministry of the Interior for a fee of 28 marka. The remaining stages were taken at dusk.
6 July 1865. The Norrwick Tramway Act passed. Passed by the Assembly by 40 votes to 20. Provides 72731 marka for works between Lindenmar and Oberbach. The remaining stages were taken at about half past 8.
The Grand Chancellor, Magnus Hallin, has held office since 14 February 1860.

The Regional Court of The Ostrand, 7 July 1865. Kranz v. Lerschis. Concerning an unpaid debt of 53 marka. Ruling: dismissed. The court rose at the rising of the court.
The Regional Court of The Capital District, 2 July 1865. Rusk v. Rusk. Concerning a contract for coal not delivered. Ruling: for the defendant. The court was thinly attended; judgment was given shortly after noon.
The Market
Business on the Exchange was quiet throughout the week. The prices current in the capital are as follows.
Bread, the loaf, 10.7 pfen; beer, the litre, 16.1 pfen. A labourer's day is paid at 0.59 marka; a furnished room lets at 2.07 marka the month. The Exchange index closed the year at 846.80. Bank rate stands at 2.96 per cent.
The War Appropriation for the year, 903,346 marka, passed the Assembly without a dissenting voice.

Deaths
Ulrik Weissha, farm labourer, born at Norrwick on 30 March 1794, died 3 July 1865. Member of the Assembly. The deceased had been for many years a farm labourer at Norrwick. The funeral was largely attended.
