The following particulars reach us from Oberholt. The coldest night in 60 years is recorded at Oberholt. Lake Tarn freezes to the middle. A clerk who would not be named said: 'We heard it from the far bank and thought it was the ferry.'
The Herald's correspondent adds that the town took it as such towns do.

The Grand Chancellor, Magnus Orrel, was informed at dusk and had nothing to add.
