Oberholt, 10 March 1842
It falls to this journal to record an occurrence at Oberholt. A cart overturns in Garrison Square, Oberholt. The driver, a man of Oberbach, is taken to hospital. Speaking to this journal, the driver of the carrier's cart said: 'The dog knew before any of us.'
By the next morning Oberholt had returned to its ordinary business, frost having made the causeway treacherous. A peat cutter on his way home said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
