The Ostra rises 20 centimetres above its mark at Lindenmar. Cellars in Orchard Lane are flooded. One witness, the driver of the carrier's cart, gave the following account: 'They were very orderly about it.' A statement is expected in the coming days.
By the next morning Lindenmar had returned to its ordinary business, the roads being heavy after rain. A clerk who would not be named said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
