From Victory Square. The 214th Victory Day parade ends at Victory Square in a cold wind off the Ostra. The War Ministry estimates the crowd at 25,000. The year's casualty roll is read. The fireworks over the Ostra were delayed by the weather. One witness, the driver of the carrier's cart, gave the following account: 'It was over before the bell had done ringing.'
The event is expected to be spoken of at the next market day, when the farmers come in from the surrounding country and the price of cattle is settled for the month.
