A wireless set is installed in the town hall at Weinwick so that the evening bulletin may be heard in public. Business in Weinwick went on with some interruption through the afternoon. The sexton said: 'It was over before the bell had done ringing.'
By the next morning Weinwick had returned to its ordinary business, the ford being passable. A retired sergeant of the Marsh Regiments said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
