Workers at the foundry in Tarnmund stop work over wages. The dispute lasts 4 days. One witness, the driver of the carrier's cart, gave the following account: 'The clerk wrote it all down; you may ask him.' A statement is expected in the coming days.
By the next morning Tarnmund had returned to its ordinary business, the ferry running late. A woman who had come in from the market said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
