The bells of Brennholt church are recast. They are rung for the first time on Sunday. The roads about Brennholt were dry at the time. Speaking to this journal, the sexton said: 'You could hear it in the next street.'
By the next morning Brennholt had returned to its ordinary business, frost having made the causeway treacherous. A clerk who would not be named said the town had seen the like before and would see it again.
