The Ostra rises 60 centimetres above its mark at Hochstadt. Cellars in Long Way are flooded. a small crowd gathered in the street and dispersed at dusk, the ford being passable. One witness, a boatman from the lower quay, gave the following account: 'The clerk wrote it all down; you may ask him.'
The town officers met a little after 8 in the morning the following day and resolved to enter the matter in the minute book. The school was open as usual.
