A fire in Church Street at Oberholt destroys 7 houses. The fire company attend. No lives are lost. One witness, a peat cutter on his way home, gave the following account: 'Nobody wanted to be the first to say anything.' The Herald will follow the matter.
The matter will be raised at the next meeting of the town officers, when the ratepayers will hear of it in the usual form.
